Follow the Money to the Heart
Matthew 6:21 (KJV)
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Jesus says the heart follows the treasure, not the other way around. That is the surprising direction, and it is very practical.
We usually assume we must feel differently before we act differently — that generosity has to wait for a generous heart. Jesus reverses it. Move the treasure, and the heart travels to where you put it. It is why people become passionate about the thing they invested in, and why a house begins to feel like home only after you have poured into it.
This also makes your spending an honest witness. Words are cheap and easily managed; money is not. Where it goes is where you have actually been sending your heart, month after month.
Look at last month, without shame. Then move one thing on purpose. You are not just changing a budget line. You are relocating your affections.
