Accepted in the Beloved

Ephesians 1:6 (KJV)

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Accepted. Past tense, already done, and not by you — he hath made us.

Almost everyone carries a hunger for approval that started long before they met God. A parent who was hard to please. A school that ranked you. A culture where worth is measured by what you have achieved and who respects you. We bring that hunger to God and turn the relationship into another audition.

But grace does not work like an audition. Notice where the acceptance sits: in the beloved. It is not your performance being accepted. It is Christ being accepted, and you being in Him. That is why it cannot be lost on a bad week.

Somebody's approval still runs your decisions. Name them today. Then do one right thing without checking whether it earns anything — because the thing you were trying to earn is already yours.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that I am accepted. Help me stop auditioning.

Today’s action: Notice one thing you did today to earn approval, and do the next thing simply because it is right.
