Barns and Presses
Proverbs 3:10 (KJV)
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
This is the second half of a promise. The first half was honouring God with the firstfruits. This is what follows: barns filled, presses bursting.
Notice that the promise assumes barns. God fills containers; He does not usually pour blessing onto the ground. A farmer expecting a harvest builds storage before it arrives, because a harvest with nowhere to go rots in the field.
Many of us pray for increase while living in a way that could not hold any. There is no account, no plan, no habit of keeping anything. Money that arrives simply passes through — and then we conclude that God has not provided, when in fact nothing was built to receive it.
Prepare the barn this week. Even a small one. Faith that asks for a harvest and then builds nowhere to put it is only half awake.
