They Had Been With Jesus
Acts 4:13 (KJV)
And they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
The council was not impressed by their credentials. Luke says plainly that they were seen as unlearned and ignorant men. What could not be explained away was something else: they had been with Jesus, and it showed.
This is a comfort and a challenge in the same sentence. The comfort: you do not need training or eloquence to carry something people notice. The challenge: what people notice comes from time spent, and there is no way to fake time spent.
Boldness was the visible part. But boldness was not the thing they had built. They had built hours in His presence, and the boldness came out of it the way heat comes off a stone that sat in the sun.
You cannot decide to be more like Him this morning. You can decide where you will sit. The rest is what other people will end up noticing.
