Build Him a Throne
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
God inhabits praise. He does not merely enjoy it — He settles into it. Praise is not the warm-up before the real thing. Praise is the furniture of the room where God sits down.
This is why worship is not a mood. On the days you feel nothing, praise is still building something. You are not performing for God; you are preparing a place for Him.
Notice the order most of us use. We bring our requests first, and thank Him with whatever time is left. Reverse it for one day and watch what changes in the room.
Something is always building the atmosphere of your home — the television, the arguments, the worry, the silence. Today, build it on purpose.
Prayer: Lord, I praise You before I ask You for anything. Be enthroned in my home today.
Today’s action: Before you bring God a single request today, spend three minutes only thanking Him.
What currently fills the atmosphere of your home — praise, complaint, noise, or worry?
