Diligent Hands
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
Scripture is honest about how lasting provision is usually built: by labour, gathered a little at a time. Getting rich quickly is not God’s normal way. Steady, hard-working gathering is.
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished. What comes too fast, to a person not yet strong enough to hold it, usually leaves just as fast. But what is gathered by patient work increases — because the same care that built it knows how to keep it.
Do not look down on the slow build. The steady effort — the daily work, the small savings, the skill you sharpen over years — is not less spiritual than a miracle. It is often how the miracle comes. God blesses working hands. Gather faithfully, a little at a time, and watch it grow into something that lasts.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to build faithfully, a little at a time, and never to look down on small progress.
Today’s action: Do one small, steady thing today toward a long-term goal — and repeat it tomorrow.
Are you waiting for one big break, or building steadily with what is already in your hands?
