Looking Unto Jesus
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
Where you fix your eyes decides where you go. Peter walked on water while he was looking at Jesus. He began to sink the moment he looked at the waves. The storm had not changed. His focus had.
Looking unto Jesus. Not glancing at Him now and then while you stare at the problem, but keeping your eyes on Him. He is the author of your faith — He started this good work in you. And He is the finisher — He will carry it all the way through. The One who started your story is committed to ending it well.
Your circumstances will always fight for your attention. Fear shouts. Problems look enormous. But you choose what you look at. Let the trouble be a quick glance and Christ be the long look. Keep looking to Jesus — the beginning and the end of your faith — and you will find you can walk through what once would have sunk you.
Prayer: Jesus, I fix my eyes on You — the One who began my faith and the One who will finish it.
Today’s action: Every time worry pulls your eyes down today, lift them back to Christ on purpose.
What have you been staring at — a fear, a problem — that you were only meant to glance at?
