Fruit With Patience

Luke 8:15 (KJV)

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Every soil in this parable received the same seed. The difference was not the word; it was the ground. And the mark of good ground is given at the end: bring forth fruit with patience.

Patience is the part we skip. We want the harvest to confirm quickly that we did the right thing, and when it does not, we assume we chose wrong and dig up the seed to check on it. Then we plant something else, and repeat.

Notice the sequence: hear it, keep it, and then fruit — with patience. Keeping is the unglamorous middle where nothing appears to be happening above the ground. Most people quit there, and most of them were closer than they knew.

There is something you started and abandoned. Not because it failed, but because it was slow. Go back to it today.
