Grace for Today, Not Tomorrow

Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Notice how God gives mercy: new every morning. Not all at once for the whole year, but a fresh supply each day — enough for the day in front of you.

That is why worrying about tomorrow drains you. You are trying to fight tomorrow’s battles with today’s grace. But God has not given you tomorrow’s grace yet, because you do not need it yet. When tomorrow comes, His mercy will come with it — new, enough, and right on time.

So do not carry trouble from a day that has not arrived. In the wilderness, God sent manna — bread from heaven — but it could not be kept overnight. The people had to gather it fresh each morning. Your strength works the same way. Gather what you need for today, and trust that when tomorrow comes, His compassion will already be there waiting — new again. Great is His faithfulness.

Prayer: Father, thank You that Your mercies are new this morning. I receive today’s grace for today’s need.

Today’s action: Name one worry about tomorrow and hand it to God — trust Him for today only.
