He Withdrew on Purpose
And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
The crowds were growing. The needs were real. The ministry was working. And Jesus withdrew himself.
Read that again, because it corrects something most of us believe. We think stepping away is what you do when you have failed, or when you are finally too tired to continue. Jesus stepped away while things were going well. He did it on purpose, and He did it often.
Notice also that He withdrew himself. Nobody sent Him. No crisis forced Him. He was the one who decided that a soul needs quiet the way a body needs sleep — before the collapse, not after.
If the Son of God needed to pull back and pray, the idea that you can run on empty is not strength. It is a slow accident waiting to happen. Withdraw before you are forced to.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to step back before I break down, the way Jesus did.
Today’s action: Block thirty minutes this week where nobody can reach you, and spend it with God.
