The Seed in Your Hand

2 Corinthians 9:10 (KJV)

Now he that ministereth seed to the sower… shall minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown.

God puts two things in every hand: bread to eat and seed to plant. The bread is for today’s need. The seed is for tomorrow’s harvest. The person who eats their seed stays where they are. The person who plants it multiplies.

When money is tight, it is tempting to use up everything — to eat the seed. But God multiplies what is planted, not what is eaten. The little you give, invest, or plant in faith is not lost. It is in the ground.

Look at what is in your hand today. Some of it is bread — use it. But some of it is seed: a little money, a skill, an hour, a kind act. Do not eat it all out of fear. Plant some in faith. The God who gives the seed is the same God who multiplies the harvest.

Prayer: Lord, give me the wisdom to see the seed in my hand, and the courage to plant it well.

Today’s action: Find one “seed” you are holding — money, a skill, an hour — and plant it somewhere today.

Reflect

Are you eating your seed because you are afraid, or planting it in faith for a future harvest?
