He Restores My Soul
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
The Shepherd does not only lead and provide — He restores. He knows the soul can be emptied out, worn thin by pushing and by sorrow, and He takes it on Himself to fill it back up.
Notice that He makes the sheep lie down in green pastures and leads them beside still waters. Rest is not laziness. It is part of how God restores you. Your soul is not a machine to be run without stopping. It is a garden — something to be watered, cared for, and allowed to rest.
If you feel drained today, you do not need to push harder. You need to let the Shepherd restore you. Come to the still waters. Lie down in the green pasture He has already prepared. You cannot manufacture rest for your soul. You receive it from the One who cares for you.
Prayer: Shepherd of my soul, restore what all the pushing has drained. Lead me beside still waters.
Today’s action: Do one restful thing today that produces nothing — simply to let God restore you.
What part of you is running on empty, waiting to be restored?
