He Simply Made Room
And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his household.
Obed-edom was not a priest or a king. He was an outsider by birth, with no training and no platform. When the ark needed somewhere to go, he simply opened his house.
Three months later everything he owned was blessed. Not because he performed. Because he hosted.
We overcomplicate this. We think hosting God requires a holiness we have not reached or a gift we do not have. But the man God blessed was the man who made room.
And room is not an idea. Room is real — a place, a time, a quiet. Something in the house has to move so that something else can live there. What needs to move in yours?
Prayer: Father, show me what needs to move in my house and my week so there is room for You.
Today’s action: Choose one place in your home — a chair, a corner, a mat — and make it your meeting place with God. Use it today.
What would making room actually look like this week, in time and in furniture?
