New Wine Needs a New Skin

Mark 2:22 (KJV)

new wine must be put into new bottles.

Jesus was not talking about drinks. He was talking about what happens between what God pours out and what we build to hold it.

New wine moves. It expands and pushes. An old skin has already stretched as far as it can, so when new wine goes in, the skin bursts — and both are lost. Not only the container. The wine too.

That is why so many real moves of God leave so little behind. The encounter was genuine. The word was genuine. But nothing was built to carry it, so within a year it had leaked away and we were waiting for the next outpouring.

God is not short of wine. He has been generous with vision and conviction in your life. The harder question is what you have built to hold it.

Prayer: Lord, help me build something that can hold what You are pouring out. Do not let it leak away.

Today’s action: Write one sentence naming what God has put in your hands right now — a burden, an idea, a responsibility.

What has God given you that you have not built anything to hold?
