Touched, or Changed?
And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
Look at what God asked for. Not a visit. A dwelling. From the beginning His desire has been to stay.
Most of us have been touched by God. We felt something real in a service, went home stirred — and by Monday it had drained away like water from a cracked pot. So we waited for the next Sunday to fill us up again.
But being touched by God and being changed by God are not the same thing. A touch is a moment. A dwelling is a life. And the problem is almost never that God will not come. It is that we have not learned to make Him stay.
He is not looking for a room to pass through. He is looking for somewhere to remain.
Prayer: Father, I do not want to only be visited. Make my life a place where You are glad to stay.
Today’s action: Name one thing you will do differently this week because of what God last showed you.
When God last moved in your heart, what was different seven days later?
