Call and He Will Answer

Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

This is an invitation with a promise attached. Call — and He answers. Not maybe. Not if you are impressive enough. He answers.

But look at the last part, because that is where the treasure is: which thou knowest not. God is not only offering to help with the plan you already made. He is offering information you do not have. Options you have not thought of. A door you did not know was in the wall.

Most of us pray about our problems only after we have exhausted our own thinking, so we ask God to bless a plan instead of asking Him for a plan. We come for approval when we could have come for wisdom.

Take the thing you have been turning over for weeks and put it in front of Him. Ask, and then wait long enough to hear something you did not already know.

Prayer: Lord, I am calling. Show me what I could never work out on my own.

Today’s action: Bring God the one problem you have been trying to solve alone, and ask Him directly.

What have you been solving by yourself that you have never actually asked God about?
