Choose This Day

Joshua 24:15 (KJV)

Choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Joshua does not ask them to feel something. He asks them to choose, and he puts a date on it: this day.

Undecided is its own decision. A household that has never chosen still serves something — whatever the culture around it serves, whatever the loudest voice in the home wants, whatever is easiest that evening. Drift always has a direction.

Then Joshua does the thing every leader has to do eventually. He stops describing and starts declaring: as for me and my house. He did not wait for a family vote. He said where he stood, and let his household see a man who had settled it.

Somebody in your home has to say it out loud. Not a lecture — a decision, followed by one small practice you actually keep. Choose today. Nobody drifts into serving the Lord.
