Honour Him First
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.
God asks for firstfruits — the first and the best, given before anything else can take it. He is not asking for leftovers. It is a question of order: whatever comes first in your life is what you truly honour.
This is not because God needs what you have. He owns all of it already. It is because giving Him the first trains your heart to trust Him with the rest. When you honour Him first — with your money, your morning, your best energy — you are saying that He is where your supply comes from, not your salary.
Anyone can give God what is left after everything else is spent. Faith gives Him the first and trusts Him for the rest. Put Him first today — in your money, your time, and what you treat as most important. The heart that honours God with its firstfruits finds a Provider more faithful than any pay packet.
Prayer: Lord, You come first — with my time, my money, my best. I trust You with the rest.
Today’s action: Give God your first and best of something today, before anything else takes it.
Does God get your first and best, or only what is left over?
