Open Hands Hold More

Godliness with contentment is great gain.

Paul calls being content great gain — as if it were a kind of wealth all by itself. And it is. Much of what we overspend on is not need. It is keeping up with people, proving something, or trying to feel better. And comparing yourself to others can never satisfy you, because there will always be someone with more.

Being content does not mean you stop growing. It means your peace no longer depends on owning more than the people around you. That is a freedom no salary can buy.

Here is something strange about the Kingdom: open hands hold more than closed fists. Giving keeps money in its right place — as a servant, not a god. When you give on purpose, even in a hard season, you prove to your own heart that money does not own you. And a heart that free is exactly where real wealth can grow, without greed or fear driving it.

The goal was never to gather more just to have more. It was to become the kind of person God can trust to move money toward people who need it.
