Renewed in the Spirit of Your Mind

Ephesians 4:23 (KJV)

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

Renewed, not entertained. Not distracted. Renewed — made new again, on purpose, from the inside.

Your mind loses its edge the way anything does with use. Old fears creep back. Old assumptions settle in. The world's way of measuring a person — what you own, how you look, who knows your name — gets in quietly through a hundred small doors and starts feeling like common sense.

That is why renewal has to be regular, not once. You do not wash yourself once and stay clean for life. A mind that is not deliberately renewed is not standing still; it is drifting back toward whatever it hears most often.

Notice the phrase the spirit of your mind. Not just facts, but the attitude underneath them — the mood you think in. God is offering to change that, and He does it mostly through His word, taken in small honest doses, often.

Prayer: Lord, renew my thinking daily, the way you renew my strength.

Today’s action: Read one chapter of Scripture slowly today and write down one sentence you want to carry.

Reflect

When was your thinking last renewed, rather than just refreshed?
