When You Are Weak
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Paul begged God three times to take his weakness away. God did not take it away. He said something better: my grace is sufficient for thee. The weakness stayed — but so did a grace big enough to cover it.
We spend so much energy hiding our weaknesses, ashamed of the places where we fall short. But God says those are the very places where His strength is made perfect — where it shows up most clearly. Your weakness does not make you unfit. It is the door His power comes through.
When I am weak, then am I strong, Paul said. Not in spite of the weakness, but through it. The exact point where your own strength runs out is where you find His. So stop hiding the weak places. Bring them into the light, and let His grace do there what your own strength never could.
Prayer: Lord, Your grace is enough. In my weakness, be my strength; where I lack, be my supply.
Today’s action: Instead of hiding your weakness today, bring it honestly to God and ask for His grace.
What weakness have you been ashamed of that God wants to fill with His strength?
