The Secret Place Is an Address

Psalm 91:1 (KJV)

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Notice the word dwelleth. Not visits. Not passes through. Dwells. A visitor knocks and leaves. Someone who dwells has an address there.

Most of us treat God's presence like a clinic. We go when something hurts. We come out feeling better and we do not return until the next pain. That is not a lie — God meets us in emergencies. But it is a small life compared to what He is offering.

The shadow in this verse belongs to the person who stays. You cannot enjoy the shade of a tree from across the field. You have to be under it. Protection follows presence, and presence follows a decision to stay.

So make it an address. A chair, a corner, a mat, a time before the house wakes up. Nothing spiritual about the furniture — everything spiritual about showing up there again tomorrow. Dwelling is just visiting, repeated until it becomes where you live.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to live in your presence and not only to visit it.

Today’s action: Pick the place and the time you will meet God tomorrow, and tell one person so it holds.

Do you visit God, or do you live with Him?
